S. S. Sundaravel is assistant Professor at the Department of Ecology and Environmental Sciences at Pondicherry University.

His areas of specialization are: Environmental Impact Assessment, Land Ecology, Global Environmental Change, Business strategy and Environment. He established a Geomatics Laboratory with an active support from the Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India 1995; Participated as a resource person in several meetings of the International Geosphere Biosphere Programme (IGBP 1995 -2005).
